37th Ward COVID-19 Notice

Dear 37th Ward Residents and Friends:
This is your Alderman Emma Mitts, and I am reaching out to you today to share vital information about the new Coronavirus virus. As always, my priority is the safety and well-being of YOU – – my 37th Ward constituents. Despite the seemingly ever-growing unsettling news of the Coronavirus and its impact on our lives, health, and economy, we need to remain focused and faithful about the process laid before us.

We Can and WILL get through this! It is very important that during this first phase that we pay close attention to the mandates from our leadership at both the local, county, state, and federal level.

Follow the Mandatory Citywide/Statewide STAY-HOME Orders:
This is designed to maximize Public Safety and keep the COVID-19 disease from spreading. Chicagoans who have tested positive for coronavirus, or exhibiting symptoms of coronavirus, are being ordered to stay home or risk fines. Please do YOUR part to keep everyone safe! If you have not tested positively

Food & Supplies:
Please Purchase Food and Home Supplies Responsibly. Buy only what you need, and please think of your family, friends and your neighbors. Let’s remember not to be selfish.

Chicago Public Schools:
Schools will now remain closed through April 20. Parents/Caregivers: The district will provide 3 days of food for all children in a family 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday-Friday at every school. Need emergency delivery? Call 773-553-KIDS(5437).

City of Chicago Update:
Due to the evolving COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Chicago facilities are closed to the public. Essential services are prioritized to protect the health and safety of our residents and employees, so expect response delays for non-essential service requests. This is a time to reflect, rest, and plan for what will come next. Spend quality time with those in your household, continue to learn, and be wise with your finances. It’s beautiful to see how in our moment of truth during this crisis, our 37th Ward residents pulling together in love and solidarity.
