Black Elected Officials Education Summit

As of the 37th ward, I knew that something had to be done to protect education on the Westside of Chicago. With declining enrollment and impending gentrification, it was past time to get together our constituents and their other elected officials to discuss the most critical educational topics. I was moved as we had consistent meetings for months leading to the planning of our educational forum at Malcolm X college. It did not feel like an inaugural event, as it was well attended, organized, and represented. It is time for us to move on the various solutions presented at the conference. I myself will be on the specific committee for youth employment, workforce development, and providing new solutions for truant and students that drop out of school. Please stay connected for more information.
